Message from the Education Minister.

“No matter how good our education system is, if our teachers fail to perform their superfluous duties with utmost dedication, loyalty and patriotic towards king, country and the people, it is as good as not having the good system in place. But it doesn’t mean that, my teachers are not performing their duties, in fact our teachers are working inordinately, which is beyond  the expectations of education ministry, by serving in the remotest corner of the country and I am sure there is no any government official bearing the same hardship of a teacher. I am proud to be back in the Education family after 15 years” said his Excellency education minister Lyonpo Mingbo Dukpa to the teachers and supporting staff of Bjishong MSS on 26th of September 2014.

With rapid globalization and advent of modernization in Bhutan, our curriculum must be redesigned in order to infuse our values, beliefs and rich traditions in the curriculum. Yes education minister is absolutely correct, because our unique culture and tradition has almost reached on the verge of extinct. Among our youth the practicing of our culture has become one of topmost embarrassing situation, but on contrary they feel bossy kingpin when they are in torn jean paints and pencil-length skirt ready to expose their private parts in the eyes of onlookers.
In this internet age, if we fail to corroborate ICT in the curriculum, our students will be incompetent and handicapped to compete in an international forum said the minister. In order to produce globally competent and zealous future citizen, MoE is in the process of introducing I class in all the schools around the nation. Today we have just implemented in few schools as a trial and as expected it has proved very successful. In regard to redesigning of curriculum MoE is going to send officialdom with questionnaires to collect your suggestions and feedbacks to reframe our curriculum in the best possible way. “I seek your genuine support and honest feedback” added the education Minister.

  1. Between saying and doing, there always comes enough gap. Though everybody considers teachers as the rein-holders of our education system, teachers should be well encouraged and supported. But looking at present situations, despite teachers being not morally, financially and spiritually supported, they're getting dragged to courts. Something is missing to get what we want out of our education system. Anyway nice read bro. Takecare until then..
