As we begin to celebrate, the 60th Birth anniversary of fourth Druk Gyalpo.

It is a great honor for all the family members of Bjishong MSS to ignite the yearlong celebration of 60th birth anniversary of the fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singey Wangchuk, a great dharma king who had rendered his best service for the welfare of his people and the country for last 34 years. Under his dynamic, visionary, populist and farsighted leadership, Bhutan has achieved unprecedented and dramatic progressions in the field of education, telecommunication and economy.

An extraordinary king, reincarnation of bodhisattvas had fathered GNH,(Gross National Happiness) the parameter which guides the developmental policy of Bhutan in 21st century when the gorgeous natural environment is being degraded by the hungry people of this planet. The fascinating principles of GNH was welcomed by the leaders of world and it has proved as a powerful weapon in combating the changing humanity there by narrowing the human desires and wants so that the natural resources of this planet will be inherited by the future generations.
After ushering the thrilling four pillars, nine domains and seventy two indicators of GNH by many economists, social scientist, Noble prize winners, thinkers and the great leaders of the world, the UNO has declared 20th of March to be observed as “International Day of Happiness” during United Nations General Assembly held on 28th of June 2012.
So as to pay our deep and humble tribute, respect and homage to our beloved fourth King for his dedicated service to the nation for last 34 hours, Bjishong MSS organized ever school culture concert, dedicated to the celebration of 60th birth anniversary of our beloved fourth Druk Gyalpo. Many similar kind of celebration are in queue to be happening in future and definitely I will be sharing those happenings as and when it happens. Long live our DRUK GYALPO and May and peace and prosperity prevail on the face of every Bhutanese.

  1. Schools are often the right place to offer the prayers and wishes to the great leaders like our 4th King. A rare leader like him must be celebrated more than any event. And glad to know that such respect and honour to our great king is cultivated even in the furthest Gasa. This is one extra-ordinary service we teachers can do: Instilling values in our children besides heavy teaching schedule. Good luck.
