Another Joie die vivre moment for my daughter.

“Daddy I have a flabbergasting thing to show you”, said my little daughter who was waiting for me near the main entrance of our residence, while I was returning home after tedious and tiresome teaching for the whole day. She has not even changed her school uniform with her casual attire that she normally does after school hours. Her pink school bag named as angry bird was still parking on her back.

I was amazed by her anomalous action and I have queried her to show the thing to me. She quickly unzipped her angry bird bag and took out a medal, which is usually given to the great sportsperson after having won in any sport events, especially in the Olympic Games. “Where and how did you manage to get that medal” I have enquired as I was perturbed and stupefied by the medal and I see no ways for her to win such award because I know that our school has already done with the annual sport day before a month ago. “You must have stolen from somewhere else my daughter, I accosted at her”.  “No no apa, never assume the things before you have scrutinized the matter” came the respond. “Apa listen to me let me tell you about this medal” she told me calmly with her medal still holding in her right hand.

“Dad today our HPE (Health and physical education) teacher had organized skipping counting competition among preprimary students. And I completed 25 counts without rest in between and there was no one to equal my point. The second point was only 16 counts. So I was awarded with the medal by my HPE teacher. “Sorry Jigme I have uttered in a polite way to console her and simultaneously to congratulate her for winning the award. Finally I thanked her for making me as a proud father.

  3. This indeed would make anyone nearby not to mention parents proud. Reading your post, I can sense picturesque figure of her - she sounds very sweet there. As Sangay said, this is her first won. So keep her inspired and don't let the fire in her to win many awards in coming years to die early. All the best for your fatherhood.

  4. Thank her for the win. At the sametime, acknowledge your HPE teacher colleague for the reinforcement. This is teaching and I know our job can do wonders, no matter what the world say.
